This information has been given in a notification signed by Kazi Rafiqul Hasan, General Manager of Foreign Monetary Policy Department of Bangladesh Bank on Monday.
The statement further said that in case of remittances of more than Rs 5,000 or Rs 5 lakh, there is an obligation to send remittance documents from foreign exchange houses to provide incentives or cash assistance. However, in this case, the incentive rate will be applicable at the rate of 2.50 percent without any kind of documents for remittance or expatriates.
The notification further said that the decision will remain in force till further instructions.
