The Home Minister made the remarks after concluding the 26th Annual Conference of the Lions Club at Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Friday (May 20) morning.
Stating that he did not know on the basis of which data their religion was called a businessman, the minister said that the white paper would be reviewed. He also warned that if anyone disturbed it, it would be suppressed with a strong hand.
When attention was drawn to the extortion in the name of the Home Minister in the capital, the Minister said, “Strict legal action will be taken against those who extort money in the name of anyone, not just the Minister.”
Meanwhile, the Islamic Cultural Forum has demanded confiscation of the white paper issued by the People’s Commission and legal action against those involved. Leaders of the Islamic Cultural Forum also claimed that the white paper handed over to the ACC chairman on May 12 contained lies about the country’s existing Islamic education system, various social organizations under the supervision of scholars and Waz mahfils.
