Rimon Mehboob Rohit, Cox’s Bazar: The navy has arrested ten people including 3 lakh 10 thousand pieces of yaba while smuggling them in a fancy way at Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar. They were arrested along with Yaba on Thursday morning in a raid on Chhera Island in St. Martin of the upazila.

Detained – Shahjalal, Elias, Kalamia, Md. Rafiq, Mohammad Rahim, Rabiul Islam, Mohammad Ibrahim, Abu Bakkar, Jasim Uddin, Rafiq Uddin.

Banauza Ali Haider, the ship’s captain and captain Sohail Azam, confirmed the matter.

He said a special operation was being conducted in the sea area east of St. Martin’s Island, based on secret information. During the operation, if the movement of a fishing boat seems suspicious, the members of the navy signal to stop the boat. When he tried to escape at a fast speed without stopping the boat, he was chased and detained. After searching the boat, 10 drug smugglers along with 3 lakh 10 thousand pieces of yaba were arrested while hiding inside the net.
