Timir Banik, Moulvibazar Correspondent: A man was fined Tk 50,000 by a mobile court for illegally extracting sand at Srimangal in Moulvibazar and 1,500 cubic feet of sand and sand extraction equipment was seized.

On Monday (May 23) afternoon, Assistant Commissioner Land (Aceland) Executive Magistrate Sandeep Talukder conducted an operation in Khalgaon area of the upazila under the direction of Deputy Commissioner and District Wise Magistrate Mir Nahid Ahsan and under the direction of Upazila Executive Officer Ali Rajib Mahmud Mithun. He paid a fine of one thousand rupees. Seized 1500 cubic feet of sand, two cello machines used for sand extraction and 60 feet long pipe.

The seized goods were sold at a public auction for Rs 36,400 in front of witnesses who were immediately present at the scene.
