Originally run by the Cambridge Curriculum, the subject teaches Arabic language and Islamic education in addition to general subjects. As a result, after passing this level, the path to higher education in Islamic subjects remains open for students at Al-Azhar University in Egypt and the University of Medina in Saudi Arabia.
