Hajj registration starts, which will take
Hajj is the largest global conference of Muslims and an important religious event. Every year, the Muslims of Bangladesh also join the large auditorium of pilgrims from different parts of the world to Saudi Arabia. The holy Hajj will start in Saudi Arabia from July 7 this year. On this occasion, registration for Hajj has started from Monday (May 16) and will continue till next Wednesday (May 16). Earlier, due to the Corona outbreak, since 2020, this international religious conference has been restricted to Saudi Hajj pilgrims only, so Bangladeshis, like other pilgrims around the world, have been deprived of participating in Hajj. This year, preparations for the Hajj can be made by following the policy formulated by the Saudi Hajj Authority with due diligence. Let’s find out what it takes to register for Hajj in 2022

Hajj registration procedure

Hajj is registered every year in Bangladesh under public and private management. However, the number of Hajj pilgrims going for Hajj under government management is only 5 percent of the total Hajj pilgrims. The most important thing in both public and private sector is pre-registration. The Hajj and Umrah authorities in Saudi Arabia set a fixed quota for Hajj in all countries of the world every year. These quotas are allocated on the basis of capacity for the provision of emergency services in Mecca-Medina. Even then, a large number of applications are received every year beyond this quota. This is why the Ministry of Hajj in Bangladesh has introduced the pre-registration system in line with the Saudi e-Hajj system. Hajj is sent from among the pre-registered people every year according to the quota. In this case the waiting passengers have to go for Hajj next year.

  • If selected for Hajj, the remaining amount of Hajj package has to be paid within the time fixed by the government.
  • After the Hajj Office or the concerned Hajj Agency confirms the payment, an irrevocable Pilgrim ID (PID) will be created for the Hajj pilgrim, which will be notified via SMS to the Hajj mobile number.
