Tom Cruise, one of the top stars of Hollywood, is coming to Dhaka with the second installment of his popular ‘Top Gun’ movie ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ which aroused response 37 years ago. The Hollywood star is not coming physically, he is coming to the theaters of Bangladesh. The movie will be released internationally on May 26. From the same day, Bangladeshi viewers will be able to watch the movie at Star Cineplex in Dhaka.

Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, senior manager (marketing) of Star Cineplex, said that advance tickets for the movie have already started selling from the Star Cineplex website and counter.

‘Top Song: Maverick’ is directed by Joseph Kosinski. Tom also produced the film with acting. Jerry Brackheimer, the producer of the first installment, is also present. The film premiered at the 65th Cannes Film Festival on May 16, with Tom in attendance.

Tom Cruise plays Navy aviator Pete Maverick Mitchell in this installment. Will be seen working on the U.S. Navy’s Strike Fighter Tactics training project. He is a mentor to the new generation of Navy pilots. In addition to Tom Cruise, former movie actor Val Kilmer is returning to the new episode. Also added are Miles Taylor, Jennifer Connelly, Ed Harris and John Hamm.

According to film critics, this ‘top song’ was the first to reach the peak of Tom Cruise’s career in the eighties. The sequel to this film is proof that the magic of Tom Cruise has not faded in the last three and a half decades.
