In Indonesia, the price of palm is ‘half’, with farmers hand in hand
The Indonesian government is in a lot of trouble by banning the export of palm oil! Export earnings have declined, and stockpiling capacity is on the rise.
Within two weeks of the ban, the price of palm fruit in the local market had dropped by almost half.
The country’s palm farmers suddenly fell head over heels in earning.
They demanded that the export ban on palm oil be lifted as soon as possible.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo banned palm oil exports in late April, citing price controls in the local market.
But instead of stabilizing the market, his decision has brought new dangers for local palm farmers.
Recently, Qatar-based Al Jazeera spoke to a number of palm farmers in different parts of Indonesia.
Almost all of them have expressed outrage at the negative effects of the export ban.
