The last working day of the week on Thursday (May 19) was a big fall in the capital market. Today has been a busy seven working days. The main index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) DSEX lost four hundred and fifty points and the overall index of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI lost 12 hundred points in this continuous fall. Today, the price of most securities and the amount of money traded with the index also decreased.
Today, the DSE’s main index, the DSEX, fell 51.6 points, or 0.71 percent, to 6,256.24 points. Among the other DSE indices today, the Shariah Index was down 6.48 points or 0.60 percent and the DSE-30 Index was down 19.60 points or 0.74 percent at 1,373.04 points and 2,317.6 points respectively.
7 crore 8 lakh rupees has been transacted on DSE today. Which is 94 crore 5 lakh less than the previous working day. The previous working day transaction was 72 crore 93 lakh.
Shares and units of 360 companies were traded on the DSE today. Of these companies, the share and unit price of 6 or 16.83 percent has increased. Shares and unit prices of 283 or 69.21 per cent and 50 or 13.17 per cent companies remained unchanged.
On the other hand, the overall index CASPI of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) fell by 135.43 points or 0.72 percent to 16,439.62 points. Of the 28 companies that changed hands on the CSE, 54 rose, 206 declined and 28 remained unchanged. 26 crore 7 lakh shares and units were traded at CSE today.
