The recommendation was made at a public hearing at the Biam Foundation auditorium in the capital on Wednesday.
In contrast to the 75.56 per cent increase proposed by the Power Development Board (BUBO), the technical team of BERC recommended an increase of 56.83 per cent.
Bubo proposed to increase the wholesale price by Tk 3.39 per unit. On the other hand, the technical team has recommended an increase of Tk 2.99 against the proposal.
