Bagerhat Correspondent: Morelganj police have arrested a drug dealer named Mahima Akhter Mau (25) with 1,200 yaba in Morelganj of Bagerhat.

The arrested Mahima is the daughter of Md. Kamal Sikder of Rajoir village in Khontakata union of Sharankhola upazila and wife of an expatriate.

Morelganj Thana Officer-in-Charge Md. Saidur Rahman said that on the basis of secret information, a raid was carried out on Wednesday (May 26) at around 4 pm under the direction of Morelganj Thana Police Bagerhat District Superintendent of Police in Adarshpara area of Ward 7 of Morelganj Municipality. Mahima was detained from a room on the east side of the third floor of the pucca house of Abdur Rahim Faraji, a retired army member in the area, and 1,200 yaba of yaba were seized from her. During the operation, a vigilante team of police including OC Investigation Md. Shahjahan and SI Subhankar participated. Attempts are being made to find out about those involved.

He also said that a case is being processed at Morelganj police station under the Narcotics Act.

According to the locals, the arrested Mahima had come to Morelganj from Sharankhola to collect drugs.
