Qatar wants to take workers from Bangladesh for the World Cup
Qatar, a Middle Eastern country, has expressed interest in hiring workers from Bangladesh for the upcoming Qatar World Cup. The country also wants to hire workers in the security, hospitality and transport sectors. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri, Qatar’s Minister of Labor, made the remarks during a meeting with Minister for Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Imran Ahmed on Wednesday (May 18th) in Qatar on the development and expansion of Bangladesh’s labor market.

During the meeting, when Imran Ahmed requested to take necessary staff from Bangladesh for the World Cup to be held in the country, the Minister of Labor of Qatar assured to recruit staff. According to the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare, the meeting discussed the development of Bangladesh’s labor market in Qatar, recruitment of necessary personnel from Bangladesh for the World Cup, post-World Cup construction and recruitment of workers in the service sector.
Referring to the fraternal relations between Bangladesh and Qatar, Minister Imran said Bangladesh is happy that the Muslim country Qatar is hosting the World Cup. Bangladesh is ready to cooperate in any way for the successful organization of the World Cup. Bangladesh is keen to send the necessary staff for the World Cup to Qatar.
Qatar’s labor minister has said that the construction of various development projects in Qatar will begin in the middle of next year. At that time he expressed interest in recruiting skilled workers from Bangladesh. The Qatari Minister of Labor praised the efficiency of Bangladeshi workers and stressed the need for workers to abide by Qatari law
