At that time the mother of the child was cooking rice in the yard. When the child was immediately picked up from the pond in an unconscious state and brought to the Banaripara Upazila Health Complex, the doctor on duty at the emergency department, Subrata Dev Pal, declared him dead at 10:05 am.
Relatives and locals said that the child suddenly started moving when he was preparing to take her home for burial.
At this time, water gushed from his mouth, which was seen by the locals including his parents. As a result, they rushed to the Banaripara Upazila Health Complex again at around 11:30 am with the child and staged a protest against the doctor for negligence of treatment. At that time, the agitated crowd protested with sticks and demanded justice for the doctor.
Banaripara police officer in charge (OC) said. Helal Uddin went to the spot and calmed them down.
Meanwhile, even after the second attempt, it was not possible to save the child.
In this regard, Dr. working in the emergency department of Banaripara Upazila Health Complex. Subrata Dev Pal claimed that the child died before he was brought to the hospital. Even after that all sorts of attempts have been made including giving oxygen and doing ECG. Every effort has been made to give oxygen and ECG again even after the second time.
Banaripara police officer in charge (OC) said. Helal Uddin said that the police immediately went to the spot to avoid any untoward incident after learning about the protest at the hospital.
The agitated crowd, including the child’s relatives, was calmed down with the assurance of taking necessary action after investigation.
