The death of three people including two young tourists in one day is being discussed everywhere. Two cases of premeditated murder have already been registered in connection with the deaths of three tourists. The three tourists, including two young women, were staying at the hotel with their illicit partner.
A young woman named Laboni Akhter (19) died on May 18 while undergoing treatment at Cox’s Bazar District Sadar Hospital. The girl along with four friends stayed at a residential hotel called Beach Holy Day in Kalatali on May 11. He fell ill on May 14 while staying at the hotel and was taken to hospital.
Cox’s Bazar Sadar Police OC (investigation) said. Selim Uddin said that it is believed that the girl named Laboni Akhtar died due to excessive drinking. Police arrested two of the four friends who came with the girl and sent her to jail through the court. Two other friends have been on the run since the incident. The two arrested are Kamrul Alam (20) and Arif Rahman Nilu (21) of Jatrabari area respectively.
The girl’s father Monir Hossain has filed a murder case against four friends at Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station. He alleged that his daughter had been brought to Cox’s Bazar and killed in a planned manner.
On the same afternoon, another young tourist mysteriously died at the Royal Tulip, a star-rated residential hotel on Inani Beach in Cox’s Bazar. Police have arrested a young man named Nasir Uddin (28) for questioning.
Major (retd) Rafiqul Islam, a security officer at Royal Tulip, said Marfua Khanam, 23, and Nasir Uddin, 28, got into the hotel on Wednesday morning. After lunch, the two took position in their room. Shortly afterwards, the girl was rushed to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital with respiratory problems. There the doctor pronounced him dead.
The girl’s brother Chaidul Islam has filed a case with Ukhia Police Station in this regard, said OC (Investigation) Gazi Salauddin. He claimed in the lawsuit that his sister was unmarried. He was brought to Cox’s Bazar and killed due to love affair.
On the other hand, a tourist who was staying at Hotel Sea Gale in Sagarpar, Cox’s Bazar died at Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital at midnight on the same day. Monirul Islam (40), a woman named Urmi, got up at the hotel as his wife. He was pronounced dead at the hospital after falling ill at night.
Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station OC (Investigation) Selim Uddin said that after the death, Monirul Islam’s real wife came from Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar and identified her husband’s body. Monirul Islam was the Executive Engineer of Narsingdi District Agriculture Development Corporation. He brought a divorced woman named Urmi to Cox’s Bazar. The woman named Urmi was arrested and sent to jail. A UD case has been filed in this regard.
