Tangail comedian Ahsan Ali, popularly known as ‘Vadaima’, has died (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilahi Raziun).

He died at a Dhaka hospital on Sunday (May 22nd) at noon. Afzal Hossain, chairman of Dainya Union Parishad, confirmed the matter.

Ahsan Ali is the son of Babar Ali of Dainya Rampal village in Dainya union of Sadar upazila. He was 50 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by two wives, two sons and two daughters.

Ahsan’s brother-in-law Judge Ali said that Ahsan Ali had been suffering from cancer for a long time. He also had water in his liver. When he fell ill on Sunday morning, he was first taken to a private clinic in the city. From there he was sent to Dhaka for advanced treatment. He died at Suhrawardy Hospital in Dhaka.

Chairman Afzal Hossain said the body was in the hospital. The process of bringing it home is ongoing.

According to his family sources, Ahsan Ali used to work in agriculture and run his family. He started acting comedy almost two decades ago. He became known as ‘Vadaima’ through a cassette 20 years ago.
